5 Tips For WOL

Working Out Loud (WOL) is a weekly practice we honor in TheCR Network. On Monday we invite you to share the upcoming projects of your week. This is a great place to see what others are doing, ask for advice and give input to others. WOL threads are posted weekly and live in the Roundtable Group. (Want to know more about what the Roundtable Group is? Check out this post).

Here are our top 5 tips for Working Out Loud each week:

  • When you get your weekly projects organized on Mondays, copy and paste them into the WOL thread. You don't have to go out of your way to make WOL extra work for yourself - just share the prioreties you have already set.
  • Make it a regular practice to build the habit. Try to set aside the same 5 to 10 minutes for WOL each week. For example, maybe Monday at noon works best for you. When you participate on a regular time schedule, your brain will start to remember on it's own when the time arrives.
  • Connect WOL to a pre-existing habit. Maybe you have a cup of coffee every Monday morning or always read the Monday Morning Member email. If you decide to WOL during or immediately after the activites you already do regularly, your pre-existing habits will become triggers to remind you.
  • Browse through WOL posts from your peers. There is a good chance someone else may be working on something similar to you. This is a great way to find out who it is, offer them a hand, ask a question and/or connect for collaboration.
  • Share something personal from time to time. We know you aren't a robot. Feel free to add a short P.S. to your WOL that gives your member peers insight into your out of office life. Who knows - maybe you will make a new connection because a fellow member also has anxiety from last night's Game of Thrones episode.
