May 2020 in TheCR Network: Making Tools Work

By Kelly Schott posted 04-30-2020 10:08

After we dove into some specifics in April talking about rewards & recognition programs, we're going to pull out a bit and focus on a slightly larger topic for May. Because a lot of the work we do in community revolves around the tools that we use as well as how we implement them, it only makes sense to take some time to focus on just that, especially with the State of Community Management 2020's release just around the corner...

Because tools impact a lot of our decision-making, strategy, tactics, and many other aspects of what we do, we've decided to focus on Making Tools Work during the month of May in TheCR Network:

For the month of May, we'll be hearing from community professionals who have immense experience in their subject areas as well as who have a bevy of tool-related expertise. In some exciting news, we'll also be getting to hear about the findings of the State of Community Management 2020 (which includes some data on tools and technology!) mid-month, so get your notebooks ready!

Through some open-ended discussions and specific case studies, we'll explore how we make tools work for us and navigate the ever-changing technology landscape to strategize and build successful communities.

Under the theme of "Making Tools Work", we'll be holding the following Roundtable Calls:

We'll also be hosting our usual user group calls and other networking and learning opportunities to allow for space for members to engage and connect around shared topics of interest:

This month, we're also opening up space for skill-building and learning as we finish our spring iteration of the external and internal community fundamentals training as well as the third meeting of the Public Speaking Lab (May call TBA). We'll also be hosting our second Community Score Review Hour, so if you've completed the Community Score and would like some insight into your score, we invite you to join us!

To keep the conversation going between calls, we're also looking forward to launching discussions, poll questions, and opening up virtual space to explore how others have implemented these kinds of programs in their own communities.

If you can't wait and you want to dive right in, we encourage you to RSVP to a call linked above, open up your own discussion in the Roundtable group around a question, challenge, or idea you have, and/or leave a comment below if there's a topic that you think we're missing. We're actively planning for the months ahead, so we're happy to bring you and your ideas aboard at any time!

Onto May!
