New Community Fellow

By Sean Marlin posted 02-16-2021 12:00

My name is Sean Marlin and I’m excited to be the new Community Fellow at the Community Roundtable. I will be Kelly’s right hand, helping her with everything from managing the CR Network, creating new content, and engaging in regular research to find ways to improve the ever evolving community.

My last three years have been at a hunger relief organization in Mid Coast Maine. My roles there ran the gamut but broke down into the categories of donor development, program manager, and general administrative duties. In donor development I was the point of first contact, managed most donor communication, wrote grants and grant reports, maintained our donor database, provided key metrics for our board. While there I managed our BackPack Program which provided weekly parcels of food to hundreds of families through their children’s school. This meant not only building a nutritious and attractive product for families but also supporting roughly forty teachers and school administrators to implement the program. This next year I hope to leverage the skills I gained there toward learning the ins and outs of community management here.

Currently I live in Maine with my cat and do a bunch of Maine stuff. I hike and camp in the summer; then ice skate and cross country ski in the winter. Beyond that I love board games, table top RPG’s, books on collective action, and I watch too many movies.

Hey, if you have any questions, big or small, don’t hesitate. Consider me your friendly neighbor. Happy to lend you my mower but also probably need to mind my own business sometimes.
